Philippines survives another typhoon

“The worst is over,” according to an official of the state-run weather bureau after forecasting that “Santi” (international codename: Mirinae) has crossed over Southern Luzon and was headed towards the South China Sea.

Nathaniel Cruz, spokesman for the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), was also optimistic about the good weather on All Saints’ Day this Sunday.

“The worst is over,” said Cruz in an interview over the radio.
